IB Grading Resources
It is very important that all students and families understand the International Baccalaureate program. IB Assessment is more complex than most grading systems. Our goal is to use a system that not only communicates to students and families where students are in their learning, but also supports Growth Mindset and incorporates the most up-to-date research into learning, development and schools.
Vista Magnet has created a WONDERFUL resource for IB grading on the school website. Please start with this explanation of IB grading philosophy, and then more detailed information on the VMMS IB Grading page. Finally, please go to the VMMS website for specific information on each class as well as up-to-date information on school news:

IB's grading system has more steps than most, is NOT about averaging test scores and uses LOTS of language to convey information that should be accessible to students AND families. If you have any questions after reading about IB Grading on the VMMS website PLEASE contact us and we can address concerns.
